We are happy to announce that, starting this year, the Italian GBD Initiative is collaborating with the website of Epidemiologia & Prevenzione to provide information, insights, and materials to the Italian epidemiological community and stimulate broader discussion on the concept of Burden of Disease (BoD).
Global Burden of Disease | Epidemiologia&Prevenzione
The collaboration takes shape through a series of scientific articles that explore various aspects emerging from the analysis of GBD estimates for Italy, as well as a series of contributions that will appear on the website, which we hope will provide useful insights into the important concepts underlying the GBD methodology and, more generally, BoD.
The first contribution is already available (Il Global Burden of Disease, una metrica orientata all’equità globale), cas well as the first article which presents an updated analysis of the Italian epidemiological situation based on GBD 2023 estimates (The burden of disease in Italy, 1990-2023: a subnational analysis from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2023).
